The two men were distant relatives, meeting only for the second time in their lives. This was the second date that started a deep relationship that could change the course of history.
Unhappy with the lack of real-life answers offered by traditional Orthodox Judaism, Rav Berg was no longer a practicing Rabbi. But there was something that it was a deep inside of him to find the benevolent kabalist. Rav Berg took a license from his business and began to study with his new teacher. Before they started his studies, Rav Brandwein asked his avid new student to start packing boxes with books on Kabbalah. It took a few days for Rav Berg to complete his task.

He had traveled all the way from America to learn Kabbalah, but instead spent all his time packing books. Rav Berg had an idea: Next time he would pay for someone else to take care of the packing so he could spend more valuable time studying with his teacher.
